Barangay Lakandula

Situated in Placer, Surigao Del Norte, Barangay Lakandula is one of 20 barangays that make up the municipality within Caraga.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Lakandula had a population of 901. This made it the 12th largest of 20 barangays in Placer by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Lakandula accounted for approximately 3.04% of the total population of Placer, which stood at 29,616 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 916 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 901 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -1.6%, consistent with a broadly stable settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Lakandula as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
