Barangay Alowin

Barangay Alowin forms part of Poona Piagapo, a municipality in Lanao Del Norte, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Alowin had a population of 957. This made it the 21st largest of 26 barangays in Poona Piagapo by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Alowin accounted for approximately 3.28% of the total population of Poona Piagapo, which stood at 29,183 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Alowin moving from 872 residents to 957 residents, an intercensal change of +9.7%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Alowin as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Poona Piagapo is a municipality comprising 26 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Alowin, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
