Barangay Poroc

Barangay Poroc forms part of Pura, a municipality in Tarlac, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poroc had a population of 942. This made it the 14th largest of 16 barangays in Pura by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poroc accounted for approximately 3.65% of the total population of Pura, which stood at 25,781 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Poroc moving from 847 residents to 942 residents, an intercensal change of +11.2%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poroc as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Pura is a municipality comprising 16 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poroc, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Tarlac, which contains 511 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Poroc ranks 443rd by 2020 population.
