Barangay 2 (Pob.)

Barangay 2 (Pob.) is a small barangay in the municipality of Salcedo, located in the province of Eastern Samar, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay 2 (Pob.) had a population of 721. This made it the 10th largest of 41 barangays in Salcedo by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay 2 (Pob.) accounted for approximately 3.26% of the total population of Salcedo, which stood at 22,136 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay 2 (Pob.) moving from 632 residents to 721 residents, an intercensal change of +14.1%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay 2 (Pob.) as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Salcedo is a municipality comprising 41 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay 2 (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Eastern Samar, which contains 597 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay 2 (Pob.) ranks 252nd by 2020 population.
