Barangay Datu Balong

Situated in San Isidro, Davao Del Norte, Barangay Datu Balong is one of 13 barangays that make up the municipality within Davao Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Datu Balong had a population of 1,444. This made it the 11th largest of 13 barangays in San Isidro by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Datu Balong accounted for approximately 5.30% of the total population of San Isidro, which stood at 27,233 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,445 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,444 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -0.1%, consistent with a broadly stable settlement. Barangay Datu Balong is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Isidro is a municipality comprising 13 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Datu Balong, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Davao Del Norte, which contains 223 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Datu Balong ranks 197th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
