Barangay Nangobongan

Barangay Nangobongan is a very small barangay in the municipality of San Juan, located in the province of Abra, in the CAR region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Nangobongan had a population of 475. This made it the 10th largest of 19 barangays in San Juan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Nangobongan accounted for approximately 4.44% of the total population of San Juan, which stood at 10,688 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Nangobongan moving from 393 residents to 475 residents, an intercensal change of +20.9%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Nangobongan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Juan is a municipality comprising 19 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Nangobongan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
