Barangay Pacalag

Barangay Pacalag forms part of San Miguel, a municipality in Bulacan, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Pacalag had a population of 1,222. This made it the 49th largest of 49 barangays in San Miguel by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pacalag accounted for approximately 0.71% of the total population of San Miguel, which stood at 172,073 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,165 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,222 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +4.9%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Pacalag is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Miguel is a municipality comprising 49 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Pacalag, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Bulacan, which contains 569 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Pacalag ranks 547th by 2020 population. The next BSKE is scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, following the synchronized election schedule set by COMELEC Resolution No. 11191.
