Barangay Songgoy

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Songgoy is one of the administrative divisions of San Pablo in Zamboanga Del Sur, Zamboanga Peninsula, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Songgoy had a population of 830. This made it the 15th largest of 28 barangays in San Pablo by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Songgoy accounted for approximately 3.11% of the total population of San Pablo, which stood at 26,648 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 794 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 830 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +4.5%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Songgoy is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Pablo is a municipality comprising 28 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Songgoy, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Zamboanga Del Sur, which contains 779 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Songgoy ranks 447th by 2020 population.
