Barangay Caruray

Situated in San Vicente, Palawan, Barangay Caruray is one of 10 barangays that make up the municipality within MIMAROPA Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Caruray had a population of 4,550. This made it the 4th largest of 10 barangays in San Vicente by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Caruray accounted for approximately 13.58% of the total population of San Vicente, which stood at 33,507 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Caruray moving from 4,534 residents to 4,550 residents, an intercensal change of +0.4%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Caruray as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

San Vicente is a municipality comprising 10 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Caruray, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
