Barangay Bolong Este

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Bolong Este is one of the administrative divisions of Santa Barbara in Iloilo, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bolong Este had a population of 1,995. This made it the 9th largest of 60 barangays in Santa Barbara by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bolong Este accounted for approximately 2.95% of the total population of Santa Barbara, which stood at 67,630 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Bolong Este changed from 1,588 to 1,995, a shift of +25.6% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Santa Barbara. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bolong Este as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Santa Barbara is a municipality comprising 60 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bolong Este, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Iloilo, which contains 1,901 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Bolong Este ranks 273rd by 2020 population.
