Situated in Santa Barbara, Iloilo, Barangay Calaboa Este is one of 60 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Calaboa Este had a population of 434. This made it the 50th largest of 60 barangays in Santa Barbara by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Calaboa Este accounted for approximately 0.64% of the total population of Santa Barbara, which stood at 67,630 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 372 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 434 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +16.7%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Calaboa Este is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
