Barangay Poblacion

Barangay Poblacion is a large barangay in the municipality of Santa Catalina, located in the province of Negros Oriental, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Poblacion had a population of 14,034. This made it the 1st largest of 22 barangays in Santa Catalina by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion accounted for approximately 18.11% of the total population of Santa Catalina, which stood at 77,501 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Poblacion moving from 13,503 residents to 14,034 residents, an intercensal change of +3.9%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Poblacion is officially classified as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.
