Barangay Cabangahan

Barangay Cabangahan is a small barangay in the municipality of Sogod, located in the province of Cebu, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Cabangahan had a population of 1,104. This made it the 16th largest of 18 barangays in Sogod by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cabangahan accounted for approximately 2.80% of the total population of Sogod, which stood at 39,447 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Cabangahan moving from 1,031 residents to 1,104 residents, an intercensal change of +7.1%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Cabangahan is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Sogod is a municipality comprising 18 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Cabangahan, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
