Barangay Rizal

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Rizal is one of the administrative divisions of Sominot in Zamboanga Del Sur, Zamboanga Peninsula, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Rizal had a population of 1,205. This made it the 6th largest of 18 barangays in Sominot by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Rizal accounted for approximately 6.32% of the total population of Sominot, which stood at 19,061 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Rizal moving from 1,187 residents to 1,205 residents, an intercensal change of +1.5%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Rizal as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
