Barangay Asinan Proper

Classified as a large barangay, Barangay Asinan Proper is one of the administrative divisions of Subic in Zambales, Central Luzon, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Asinan Proper had a population of 9,049. This made it the 5th largest of 16 barangays in Subic by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Asinan Proper accounted for approximately 8.09% of the total population of Subic, which stood at 111,912 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 7,855 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 9,049 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +15.2%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Asinan Proper as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Subic is a municipality comprising 16 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Asinan Proper, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Zambales, which contains 247 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Asinan Proper ranks 12th by 2020 population.
