Barangay Buguis

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Buguis is one of the administrative divisions of Sulop in Davao Del Sur, Davao Region, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Buguis had a population of 772. This made it the 17th largest of 25 barangays in Sulop by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Buguis accounted for approximately 2.20% of the total population of Sulop, which stood at 35,151 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Buguis moving from 738 residents to 772 residents, an intercensal change of +4.6%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Buguis as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Sulop is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Buguis, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
