Situated in Taal, Batangas, Barangay Iba is one of 42 barangays that make up the municipality within CALABARZON.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Iba had a population of 3,345. This made it the 4th largest of 42 barangays in Taal by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Iba accounted for approximately 5.44% of the total population of Taal, which stood at 61,460 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Iba changed from 2,962 to 3,345, a shift of +12.9% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Taal. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Iba as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Taal is a municipality comprising 42 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Iba, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
