Barangay Doña Carmen

Barangay Doña Carmen forms part of Tagbina, a municipality in Surigao Del Sur, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Doña Carmen had a population of 2,869. This made it the 3rd largest of 25 barangays in Tagbina by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Doña Carmen accounted for approximately 6.99% of the total population of Tagbina, which stood at 41,051 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Doña Carmen changed from 2,841 to 2,869, a shift of +1.0% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with slowly expanding populations in Tagbina. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Doña Carmen as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Tagbina is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Doña Carmen, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
