Barangay Poblacion

Barangay Poblacion is a large barangay in the municipality of Tagbina, located in the province of Surigao Del Sur, in the Caraga region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Poblacion had a population of 7,123. This made it the 1st largest of 25 barangays in Tagbina by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Poblacion accounted for approximately 17.35% of the total population of Tagbina, which stood at 41,051 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Poblacion moving from 6,067 residents to 7,123 residents, an intercensal change of +17.4%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Poblacion as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Tagbina is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Poblacion, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
