Barangay Bagong Silang

Barangay Bagong Silang is a small barangay in the municipality of Tagkawayan, located in the province of Quezon, in the CALABARZON region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Bagong Silang had a population of 1,124. This made it the 17th largest of 45 barangays in Tagkawayan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bagong Silang accounted for approximately 2.08% of the total population of Tagkawayan, which stood at 54,003 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Bagong Silang changed from 1,100 to 1,124, a shift of +2.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Tagkawayan. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Bagong Silang as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Tagkawayan is a municipality comprising 45 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bagong Silang, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
