This made it the 26th largest of 29 barangays in Talakag by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Colawingon accounted for approximately 1.74% of the total population of Talakag, which stood at 77,027 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Colawingon moving from 1,185 residents to 1,337 residents, an intercensal change of +12.8%. The trajectory indicates a growing community.
