Barangay Caputican

Barangay Caputican is a small barangay in the municipality of Talavera, located in the province of Nueva Ecija, in the Central Luzon region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Caputican had a population of 1,746. This made it the 32nd largest of 53 barangays in Talavera by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Caputican accounted for approximately 1.32% of the total population of Talavera, which stood at 132,338 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Caputican moving from 1,713 residents to 1,746 residents, an intercensal change of +1.9%. The trajectory indicates a slowly expanding community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Caputican as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Talavera is a municipality comprising 53 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Caputican, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
