Barangay Pag-asa (Pob.)

Classified as a large barangay, Barangay Pag-asa (Pob.) is one of the administrative divisions of Talavera in Nueva Ecija, Central Luzon, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Pag-asa (Pob.) had a population of 5,162. This made it the 4th largest of 53 barangays in Talavera by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pag-asa (Pob.) accounted for approximately 3.90% of the total population of Talavera, which stood at 132,338 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 4,989 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 5,162 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +3.5%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Pag-asa (Pob.) as urban, reflecting the density and built-up character of the area.

Talavera is a municipality comprising 53 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Pag-asa (Pob.), including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Nueva Ecija, which contains 849 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Pag-asa (Pob.) ranks 104th by 2020 population. Nueva Ecija is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.
