Barangay Calituban

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Calituban is one of the administrative divisions of Talibon in Bohol, Central Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Calituban had a population of 3,738. This made it the 8th largest of 25 barangays in Talibon by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Calituban accounted for approximately 5.24% of the total population of Talibon, which stood at 71,272 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Calituban moving from 4,145 residents to 3,738 residents, an intercensal change of -9.8%. The trajectory indicates a contracting community. Barangay Calituban is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Talibon is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Calituban, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Bohol, which contains 1,109 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Calituban ranks 40th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
