Barangay Cataban

Barangay Cataban forms part of Talibon, a municipality in Bohol, and is classified as a small barangay.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Cataban had a population of 1,427. This made it the 23rd largest of 25 barangays in Talibon by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cataban accounted for approximately 2.00% of the total population of Talibon, which stood at 71,272 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Cataban moving from 1,348 residents to 1,427 residents, an intercensal change of +5.9%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Cataban is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Talibon is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Cataban, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
