Barangay Mahanay

Barangay Mahanay is a small barangay in the municipality of Talibon, located in the province of Bohol, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Mahanay had a population of 1,891. This made it the 15th largest of 25 barangays in Talibon by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Mahanay accounted for approximately 2.65% of the total population of Talibon, which stood at 71,272 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Mahanay moving from 1,806 residents to 1,891 residents, an intercensal change of +4.7%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Mahanay is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Talibon is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Mahanay, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
