Barangay Da-an Sur

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Da-an Sur is one of the administrative divisions of Tapaz in Capiz, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Da-an Sur had a population of 847. This made it the 30th largest of 58 barangays in Tapaz by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Da-an Sur accounted for approximately 1.56% of the total population of Tapaz, which stood at 54,423 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Da-an Sur changed from 881 to 847, a shift of -3.9% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Tapaz. Barangay Da-an Sur is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Tapaz is a municipality comprising 58 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Da-an Sur, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Capiz, which contains 473 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Da-an Sur ranks 377th by 2020 population. The next Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) are scheduled for Monday, November 2, 2026, with officials serving four-year terms under Republic Act No. 12232.
