Barangay Libertad

Barangay Libertad is a small barangay in the municipality of Tapaz, located in the province of Capiz, in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Libertad had a population of 676. This made it the 39th largest of 58 barangays in Tapaz by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Libertad accounted for approximately 1.24% of the total population of Tapaz, which stood at 54,423 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Libertad moving from 659 residents to 676 residents, an intercensal change of +2.6%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Libertad is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Tapaz is a municipality comprising 58 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Libertad, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
