Barangay Santa Petronila

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Santa Petronila is one of the administrative divisions of Tapaz in Capiz, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Santa Petronila had a population of 525. This made it the 46th largest of 58 barangays in Tapaz by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Santa Petronila accounted for approximately 0.96% of the total population of Tapaz, which stood at 54,423 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 488 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 525 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +7.6%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Santa Petronila is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Tapaz is a municipality comprising 58 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Santa Petronila, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
