Barangay Cuya

Barangay Cuya is a small barangay in the municipality of Ubay, located in the province of Bohol, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Cuya had a population of 536. This made it the 44th largest of 44 barangays in Ubay by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Cuya accounted for approximately 0.66% of the total population of Ubay, which stood at 81,799 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Cuya moving from 538 residents to 536 residents, an intercensal change of -0.4%. The trajectory indicates a broadly stable community. Barangay Cuya is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Ubay is a municipality comprising 44 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Cuya, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
