Barangay Tapal

Situated in Ubay, Bohol, Barangay Tapal is one of 44 barangays that make up the municipality within Central Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Tapal had a population of 1,631. This made it the 24th largest of 44 barangays in Ubay by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tapal accounted for approximately 1.99% of the total population of Ubay, which stood at 81,799 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,516 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,631 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +7.6%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Tapal is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Ubay is a municipality comprising 44 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tapal, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
