Barangay Esperanza

Situated in Umingan, Pangasinan, Barangay Esperanza is one of 58 barangays that make up the municipality within Ilocos Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Esperanza had a population of 1,302. This made it the 23rd largest of 58 barangays in Umingan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Esperanza accounted for approximately 1.69% of the total population of Umingan, which stood at 77,074 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Esperanza changed from 1,027 to 1,302, a shift of +26.8% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Umingan. Barangay Esperanza is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Umingan is a municipality comprising 58 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Esperanza, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
