Barangay Balugo

Barangay Balugo is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Valencia, located in the province of Negros Oriental, in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Balugo had a population of 2,222. This made it the 5th largest of 24 barangays in Valencia by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Balugo accounted for approximately 5.74% of the total population of Valencia, which stood at 38,733 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Balugo moving from 1,780 residents to 2,222 residents, an intercensal change of +24.8%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Balugo is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
