Barangay Calayugan

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Calayugan is one of the administrative divisions of Valencia in Negros Oriental, Central Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Calayugan had a population of 1,362. This made it the 14th largest of 24 barangays in Valencia by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Calayugan accounted for approximately 3.52% of the total population of Valencia, which stood at 38,733 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Calayugan moving from 1,114 residents to 1,362 residents, an intercensal change of +22.3%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Calayugan as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
