Barangay Jawa

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Jawa is one of the administrative divisions of Valencia in Negros Oriental, Central Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Jawa had a population of 2,639. This made it the 4th largest of 24 barangays in Valencia by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Jawa accounted for approximately 6.81% of the total population of Valencia, which stood at 38,733 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Jawa moving from 2,109 residents to 2,639 residents, an intercensal change of +25.1%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Jawa as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Valencia is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Jawa, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
