Barangay Palinpinon

Barangay Palinpinon forms part of Valencia, a municipality in Negros Oriental, and is classified as a mid-sized barangay.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Palinpinon had a population of 3,352. This made it the 2nd largest of 24 barangays in Valencia by population, placing it among the most populous barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Palinpinon accounted for approximately 8.65% of the total population of Valencia, which stood at 38,733 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,933 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 3,352 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +14.3%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Palinpinon as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Valencia is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Palinpinon, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Negros Oriental, which contains 557 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Palinpinon ranks 134th by 2020 population. Negros Oriental is classified as a 1st by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.
