Barangay Pulangbato

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Pulangbato is one of the administrative divisions of Valencia in Negros Oriental, Central Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Pulangbato had a population of 1,031. This made it the 17th largest of 24 barangays in Valencia by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pulangbato accounted for approximately 2.66% of the total population of Valencia, which stood at 38,733 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 998 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,031 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +3.3%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Pulangbato is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Valencia is a municipality comprising 24 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Pulangbato, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Negros Oriental, which contains 557 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Pulangbato ranks 452nd by 2020 population.
