Barangay Ogbong

Situated in Viga, Catanduanes, Barangay Ogbong is one of 31 barangays that make up the municipality within Bicol Region.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Ogbong had a population of 1,030. This made it the 6th largest of 31 barangays in Viga by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Ogbong accounted for approximately 4.50% of the total population of Viga, which stood at 22,869 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Ogbong changed from 1,042 to 1,030, a shift of -1.2% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with broadly stable populations in Viga. Barangay Ogbong is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Viga is a municipality comprising 31 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Ogbong, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Catanduanes, which contains 315 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Ogbong ranks 75th by 2020 population.
