Barangay Lotuban

Classified as a mid-sized barangay, Barangay Lotuban is one of the administrative divisions of Zamboanguita in Negros Oriental, Central Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Lotuban had a population of 2,131. This made it the 5th largest of 10 barangays in Zamboanguita by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Lotuban accounted for approximately 7.21% of the total population of Zamboanguita, which stood at 29,569 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 2,053 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 2,131 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +3.8%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Lotuban is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Zamboanguita is a municipality comprising 10 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Lotuban, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Negros Oriental, which contains 557 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Lotuban ranks 257th by 2020 population.
