Barangay Boblaran

Situated in Zumarraga, Samar, Barangay Boblaran is one of 25 barangays that make up the municipality within Eastern Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Boblaran had a population of 394. This made it the 22nd largest of 25 barangays in Zumarraga by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Boblaran accounted for approximately 2.42% of the total population of Zumarraga, which stood at 16,279 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Boblaran moving from 359 residents to 394 residents, an intercensal change of +9.7%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Boblaran as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Zumarraga is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Boblaran, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
