Barangay Camayse

Barangay Camayse is a small barangay in the municipality of Zumarraga, located in the province of Samar, in the Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Camayse had a population of 667. This made it the 8th largest of 25 barangays in Zumarraga by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Camayse accounted for approximately 4.10% of the total population of Zumarraga, which stood at 16,279 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Camayse moving from 671 residents to 667 residents, an intercensal change of -0.6%. The trajectory indicates a broadly stable community. Barangay Camayse is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
