Barangay Bagacay

Barangay Bagacay is a mid-sized barangay in the municipality of Alabel, located in the province of Sarangani, in the SOCCSKSARGEN region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Bagacay had a population of 4,647. This made it the 11th largest of 13 barangays in Alabel by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Bagacay accounted for approximately 5.26% of the total population of Alabel, which stood at 88,294 in the same census year.

Census comparisons between 2015 and 2020 show Barangay Bagacay moving from 3,310 residents to 4,647 residents, an intercensal change of +40.4%. The trajectory indicates a growing community. Barangay Bagacay is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Alabel is a municipality comprising 13 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Bagacay, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
