Barangay Maraburab

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Maraburab is one of the administrative divisions of Alcala in Cagayan, Cagayan Valley, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Maraburab had a population of 1,318. This made it the 14th largest of 25 barangays in Alcala by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Maraburab accounted for approximately 3.19% of the total population of Alcala, which stood at 41,295 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Maraburab changed from 1,165 to 1,318, a shift of +13.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Alcala. Barangay Maraburab is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Alcala is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Maraburab, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cagayan, which contains 820 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Maraburab ranks 374th by 2020 population.
