Barangay Pared

Barangay Pared is a small barangay in the municipality of Alcala, located in the province of Cagayan, in the Cagayan Valley region of the Philippines.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Pared had a population of 661. This made it the 24th largest of 25 barangays in Alcala by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pared accounted for approximately 1.60% of the total population of Alcala, which stood at 41,295 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Pared changed from 593 to 661, a shift of +11.5% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with growing populations in Alcala. Barangay Pared is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Alcala is a municipality comprising 25 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Pared, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Cagayan, which contains 820 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Pared ranks 671st by 2020 population.
