Barangay Mapili Grande

Classified as a small barangay, Barangay Mapili Grande is one of the administrative divisions of Badiangan in Iloilo, Western Visayas, Philippines.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Mapili Grande had a population of 948. This made it the 12th largest of 31 barangays in Badiangan by population, placing it in the middle tier of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Mapili Grande accounted for approximately 3.50% of the total population of Badiangan, which stood at 27,056 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 936 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 948 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +1.3%, consistent with a slowly expanding settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Mapili Grande as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Badiangan is a municipality comprising 31 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Mapili Grande, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Iloilo, which contains 1,901 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Mapili Grande ranks 808th by 2020 population.
