Barangay Mapili Sanjo

Situated in Badiangan, Iloilo, Barangay Mapili Sanjo is one of 31 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Mapili Sanjo had a population of 251. This made it the 31st largest of 31 barangays in Badiangan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Mapili Sanjo accounted for approximately 0.93% of the total population of Badiangan, which stood at 27,056 in the same census year.

Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Mapili Sanjo changed from 276 to 251, a shift of -9.1% over the five-year period. This places the barangay among those with contracting populations in Badiangan. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Mapili Sanjo as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Badiangan is a municipality comprising 31 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Mapili Sanjo, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
