Barangay Tamocol

Situated in Badiangan, Iloilo, Barangay Tamocol is one of 31 barangays that make up the municipality within Western Visayas.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Tamocol had a population of 636. This made it the 24th largest of 31 barangays in Badiangan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Tamocol accounted for approximately 2.35% of the total population of Badiangan, which stood at 27,056 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 644 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 636 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of -1.2%, consistent with a broadly stable settlement. Barangay Tamocol is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Badiangan is a municipality comprising 31 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Tamocol, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Iloilo, which contains 1,901 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Tamocol ranks 1135th by 2020 population.
