Situated in Badoc, Ilocos Norte, Barangay Pagsanahan Sur is one of 31 barangays that make up the municipality within Ilocos Region.

According to the 2020 Census of Population and Housing conducted by the Philippine Statistics Authority, Barangay Pagsanahan Sur had a population of 1,412. This made it the 5th largest of 31 barangays in Badoc by population, placing it in the upper half of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Pagsanahan Sur accounted for approximately 4.34% of the total population of Badoc, which stood at 32,530 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 1,337 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 1,412 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +5.6%, consistent with a growing settlement. The Philippine Statistics Authority classifies Barangay Pagsanahan Sur as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.
