Barangay Ababa-an

Barangay Ababa-an forms part of Balbalan, a municipality in Kalinga, and is classified as a very small barangay.

This made it the 14th largest of 14 barangays in Balbalan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Between the 2015 and 2020 censuses, the population of Barangay Ababa-an changed from 444 to 445, a shift of +0.2% over the five-year period. Barangay Ababa-an is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Balbalan is a municipality comprising 14 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Ababa-an, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration.
