Barangay Talalang

Situated in Balbalan, Kalinga, Barangay Talalang is one of 14 barangays that make up the municipality within CAR.

According to the 2020 Philippine census, Barangay Talalang had a population of 603. This made it the 12th largest of 14 barangays in Balbalan by population, placing it among the smaller barangays of the municipality. Residents of Barangay Talalang accounted for approximately 4.67% of the total population of Balbalan, which stood at 12,914 in the same census year.

The barangay recorded 495 residents in the 2015 intercensal count and 603 residents in the 2020 Census — a net change of +21.8%, consistent with a growing settlement. Barangay Talalang is officially classified as rural, a designation applied to barangays with lower population density and predominantly non-built-up land use.

Balbalan is a municipality comprising 14 barangays, and serves as the governing unit directly responsible for local services in Barangay Talalang, including public health, sanitation, peace and order, and civil registration. Within the wider province of Kalinga, which contains 153 barangays across its component cities and municipalities, Barangay Talalang ranks 117th by 2020 population. Kalinga is classified as a 3rd by the Bureau of Local Government Finance, a category that reflects the province's annual regular income.
